30% of UK Companies Impacted by Cryptojacking
A recent survey commissioned by Citrix reveals that approximately one-third of UK companies have encountered cryptocurrency mining malware within a single month. Conducted in May, the poll focused on businesses with over 250 employees.
The findings indicate that 38% of the surveyed companies believe they have never been targeted by such attacks, while 59% reported experiencing some form of cryptojacking in the past. Among those affected, a significant 80% noted that these incidents occurred within the last six months, a trend likely influenced by the surge in cryptocurrency prices during that period.
The survey also highlighted that most attacks (60%) impacted up to 50 devices, with only 11% affecting more than 100 devices. This data underscores the growing concern regarding cryptojacking in the corporate sector.
