China Welcomes Expansion of U.S. Dairy Firms, Says Vice Minister
China has expressed its openness to dairy companies from all nations, including the United States, to expand their operations in the Chinese market, according to Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen. During a recent meeting with Krysta Harden, President of the U.S. Dairy Export Council, Wang highlighted the country’s welcoming stance.
This meeting occurred shortly after China’s commerce ministry announced the possibility of implementing provisional anti-dumping measures on pork imports from the European Union, following a year-long investigation initiated on June 17.
China is investigating EU pork and its by-products, primarily targeting countries like Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark, in response to the bloc’s imposition of anti-subsidy duties on Chinese electric vehicles.
In the statement from Tuesday, the commerce ministry detailed discussions between China and the U.S. regarding economic and trade relations, focusing particularly on cooperation in the dairy and other agricultural sectors.
