OpenAI and Italian State Lender CDP Collaborate on AI Initiatives for Startups
Milan – OpenAI Partners with CDP to Propel AI Adoption in Italy
OpenAI and Italy’s state lender CDP have formalized a partnership aimed at promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) among Italian startups and innovative companies.
In a joint statement, the organizations announced that OpenAI will make investments—both directly and through CDP’s venture capital division—in startups focused on developing AI-driven products and services.
This collaboration is expected to provide Italian firms access to OpenAI’s cutting-edge technologies and financial support from U.S. venture capital stakeholders.
Earlier this year, CDP Venture Capital revealed plans to invest 1 billion euros (approximately $1.11 billion) in AI and cybersecurity initiatives over the next five years.
The agreement stems from a recent meeting between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, which took place during the UN General Assembly in New York.
