Iran’s President Asserts No Weapons Transfer to Russia Since Taking Office, Reports Reuters

DUBAI – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that his government has not supplied any weapons to Russia since taking office in August, following accusations from Western powers alleging that Tehran provided ballistic missiles to Moscow in September.

Last week, the United States and its allies accused Iran of transferring ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, leading to the imposition of new sanctions on both nations.

Both Russia and Iran have refuted these allegations from the West.

During a televised news conference, when asked about the possibility of missile transfers to Russia, Pezeshkian acknowledged, "It is possible that a delivery took place in the past… but I can assure you that since I took office, there has not been any such delivery to Russia."

In February, reports indicated that Iran had supplied Russia with a considerable number of surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, further strengthening military cooperation between the two countries, both of which face U.S. sanctions.
