SEC Seeks Dismissal of Lawsuit Against Ripple’s Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen
Lawyers for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have announced plans to seek the dismissal of all claims against CEO Brad Garlinghouse and executive chair Chris Larsen.
In a filing made on October 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the SEC informed the court that the parties involved in its case against Ripple have agreed to the dismissal with prejudice, indicating that there is no need to schedule a trial. However, the filing did not mention any withdrawal of the SEC’s civil case against Ripple, which was originally filed in 2020.
