In Congress, a New Bill Proposes Comprehensive Survey of Blockchain Technology in the US

On May 19, Representative Brett Guthrie (R-KY) introduced the “Advancing Blockchain Act.” According to a draft of the legislation dated May 18, the bill calls for the Federal Trade Commission and the Secretary of Commerce to conduct a comprehensive survey on the uses and adoption of blockchain technology in the United States.

The proposed legislation aims to clarify the roles of federal agencies, directing the regulators involved in the survey to undertake specific assessments of blockchain’s impact and integration within various sectors.
