Sweden Stocks End Lower; OMX Stockholm 30 Declines 0.53%
Stocks in Sweden declined following Friday’s trading session, with the losses primarily driven by the telecommunications, industrial, and consumer goods sectors.
By the close of the market in Stockholm, the main index fell by 0.53%.
Among the standout performers for the day was Tele2 AB, which saw an increase of 1.51% or 1.75 points, finishing at 117.70. Telia Company AB also performed well, gaining 1.41% or 0.47 points to close at 33.85. Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B rose 1.28% or 0.98 points, ending the session at 77.28.
On the other hand, the biggest losses were recorded by AB SKF B, which experienced a decline of 4.74% or 9.70 points, closing at 193.80. Electrolux AB Class B fell by 4.05% or 4.00 points to end the day at 95.30, while Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B dropped 2.39% or 3.50 points to close at 143.20.
Overall, declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, with 437 shares falling compared to 309 that rose, and 93 remaining unchanged.
Additionally, shares of Telia Company AB and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B both reached 52-week highs during the session.
In commodities trading, crude oil for November delivery decreased by 0.15% or $0.11, settling at $71.05 per barrel. Brent oil for November delivery fell by 0.44% or $0.33 to $74.55 per barrel. Meanwhile, December Gold Futures saw an uptick of 1.25% or $32.65, trading at $2,647.25 per troy ounce.
In currency markets, the Euro rose 0.31% against the Swedish Krona, reaching 11.37, and the US Dollar increased by 0.30% to 10.18 against the Krona.
The US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.09%, standing at 100.41.
