18,000 Bitcoin (BTC) Transferred to BitMEX Wallet by Cryptovest

Just hours after recovering from a dip below $6,000, a significant amount of Bitcoin was transferred from 17 wallets to one associated with the BitMEX exchange.

At 4:50 AM New York time, a transaction involving 10 BTC was sent to a BitMEX-linked wallet. While this initial amount appeared small, less than half an hour later, another 16 wallets transferred a total of 17,990 BTC. This influx raised the suspected BitMEX wallet’s balance to just over 18,000 BTC.

The current dollar value of these coins amounts to approximately $114 million.

This event sparked considerable discussion on Twitter, with users speculating whether it was a whale moving a substantial amount of money to the exchange or an attempt at market manipulation.
