Finland Stocks Close Lower; OMX Helsinki 25 Declines 1.12%
Finland’s stock market saw declines at the close on Friday, primarily driven by losses in various sectors.
In Helsinki, the main index fell by 1.12%.
Among the best performers of the day was Fortum Oyj, which rose by 0.64%, gaining 0.09 points to finish at 14.17. Nordea Bank Abp followed with a 0.47% increase, adding 0.05 points to close at 10.72, while Elisa Oyj saw a rise of 0.38%, up 0.18 points to end at 47.40.
Conversely, the worst performers included TietoEVRY Corp, which dropped 8.18%, losing 1.59 points to settle at 17.84. Stora Enso Oyj R also experienced a decline, falling 4.46% or 0.51 points to close at 10.81. Metso Oyj was down 3.23%, losing 0.29 points to finish at 8.64.
On the Helsinki Stock Exchange, declining stocks outnumbered those that advanced by a ratio of 106 to 55, with 27 stocks remaining unchanged.
In the commodities market, Brent oil for November delivery decreased by 0.51%, down by 0.38 to $74.50 per barrel. Crude oil for November delivery also dipped by 0.22%, losing 0.16 to reach $71.00 per barrel. Meanwhile, December Gold Futures increased by 1.29%, gaining 33.75 to trade at $2,648.35 per troy ounce.
In currency markets, the EUR/USD remained relatively stable, with a slight change of 0.02% to 1.12. The EUR/GBP had a similar pattern, showing a minimal change of 0.19% to 0.84. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a modest uptick of 0.16%, reaching 100.48.
