Another Satoshi Nakamoto Associate Denies Being Bitcoin Creator
The last 12 hours have been incredibly eventful in the cryptocurrency world, as a prominent U.S. television network announced the upcoming launch of a new series titled “Money Electric: The Story.” The buzz surrounding the show isn’t just about its content, but rather a bold claim that it will finally unveil the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto—the mysterious figure behind the creation of Bitcoin and author of its white paper in 2008.
Naturally, this intriguing promise has ignited significant excitement in the market, with all eyes turning toward October 8 as the release date.
In the meantime, speculation regarding Satoshi’s true identity has intensified, leading to a resurgence of old theories and discussions.
One prominent theory suggests that Satoshi Nakamoto could be Adam Back, the CEO of Blockstream and one of the few individuals referenced in Bitcoin’s white paper. Back has a notable background in cryptography and Bitcoin mining, particularly as the inventor of Hashcash. Addressing the renewed speculation on social media, Back simply responded with two words: “not me,” firmly denying any association with the Bitcoin creator. Interestingly, he is known to be involved in the upcoming series.
Other frequently mentioned candidates for the identity of Bitcoin’s creator include James A. Donald, an anonymous Canadian cypherpunk known for his early critiques of Bitcoin, and Len Sassaman, an American technology expert and cryptographer.
