TOKYO – The Bank of Japan has indicated that price increases are becoming more widespread, with many companies feeling the pressure to raise wages due to ongoing structural labor shortages.

In its quarterly report, the Bank upgraded its assessments for two of Japan’s nine regional areas, while maintaining its evaluations for the other regions.
