Security Platforms Warn About Hidden Phishing and Wallet Drainer Links

Millions of dollars in assets are lost to phishing attacks, especially when users accidentally grant malicious permissions. This makes the risk of losing cryptocurrency assets through suspicious links very significant. The situation is compounded when platforms allow for hidden links, exposing users to additional dangers.

On September 4, the Web3 security provider Pocket Universe reported on how scammers can conceal wallet-draining links within any text in the messaging platform Discord. While some users note that this feature has recently become available to Discord users, the capability to embed links in various forms of text has been present on numerous social platforms for an extended period.
