Base Network Introduces 8-Week Training Course for Blockchain Developers

On October 20, the layer-2 Base network announced the launch of an eight-week training course aimed at transforming traditional software developers into blockchain developers. The program, dubbed “Base Bootcamp,” is free of charge but is targeted at mid to senior-level software engineering professionals. Interested participants must submit an application and gain acceptance to enroll. The course will accept fewer than 20 students in each cohort, and applications will close on October 27.

According to Base, the initiative addresses a significant skills gap in the industry, highlighting that most software developers lack the knowledge to create Web3 applications. The organization noted that there are currently fewer than 30,000 on-chain developers, in stark contrast to nearly 30 million software developers, which suggests that only about 0.1% of software developers are engaged in the Web3 space.
