What’s Behind the Surge in Crypto Deaths? By Cointelegraph
Last month, Bulgarian plumbers were summoned to clear a blocked drain in an apartment building in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. To their shock, the source of the blockage was identified as the decomposing body of 41-year-old Christian Peev, a cryptocurrency mogul from the United States. It is believed that Peev was brutally murdered with a dumbbell by a friend motivated by jealousy.
In a separate incident, weeks earlier, a group of children discovered the body of Fernando Prez Algaba, a missing cryptocurrency millionaire, in a river in the Buenos Aires province. Authorities report that Algaba had been shot three times before being placed in a suitcase, suggesting links to organized crime.
These incidents have raised concerns and questions about the growing number of violent deaths associated with individuals in the cryptocurrency sector.
