Taiwan Stocks Rise at Market Close; Taiwan Weighted Index Gains 1.68%
Taiwan’s stock market saw an upswing following Monday’s trading session, driven by gains across various sectors.
By the end of the day, the index increased by 1.68%.
Leading the charge were Arima Communications Corp, which surged by 350.24%, gaining 7.39 points to reach 9.50. Headway Advanced Materials Inc followed closely, adding 10.00% or 2.30 points to close at 25.30. Sunko Ink Co Ltd also saw a significant rise of 9.98%, moving up 2.20 points to finish at 24.25.
Conversely, the session’s laggards included Huang Hsiang Construction Corp, which fell by 10.00%, losing 6.50 points to close at 58.50. Farglory Land Development Co Ltd decreased by 10.00%, down by 7.90 points to end at 71.10, while Da-Li Development Co Ltd dropped 9.98%, down 6.00 points to settle at 54.10.
On the Taiwan Stock Exchange, declining stocks outnumbered those that rose.
Arima Communications Corp reached a three-year high with its substantial gain, while Headway Advanced Materials Inc and Sunko Ink Co Ltd both hit 52-week highs.
In commodities, crude oil for November delivery rose by 0.79%, reaching $71.56 per barrel. Additionally, Brent oil for December delivery gained 0.75%, hitting $74.24, while December Gold Futures increased by 0.27%, trading at $2,653.35 per troy ounce.
The USD/TWD exchange rate rose by 0.17%, reaching 32.04, while TWD/CNY remained stable at 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a slight increase of 0.06%, ending at 100.48.
