Crypto Chipset Maker Bitmain to Expand Talent Pool

Bitmain, a prominent manufacturer of cryptocurrency chipsets, has launched a campus recruitment program aimed at identifying and attracting new talent.

In an announcement made on September 4, Bitmain indicated its focus on bringing in PhD candidates with expertise in thermal energy, machinery, electrical engineering, materials science, and related areas as part of this initiative.

The company is looking for 24 graduates, both locally and internationally, who hold at least a master’s degree. In exchange, Bitmain offers three years of free dormitory accommodation or discounted rent. This recruitment effort is not limited to China; it also encompasses candidates from Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.

This development follows Bitmain’s statement on June 21 regarding its collaboration with Anchorage Digital to acquire equity in Core Scientific, which was then the second-largest publicly listed cryptocurrency miner. Core Scientific had filed for bankruptcy due to dwindling revenue and decreasing Bitcoin prices, and as of now, there have been no further updates regarding the status of this acquisition.

Additionally, Bitmain announced that it will host the World Digital Mining Summit 2023 in Hong Kong from September 22 to 23, 2023, under the theme “Mining for the Next Bull Market.”
