US, Canada to Discuss Maritime Boundary in Beaufort Sea – Statement by Reuters
The United States and Canada have announced plans to negotiate the maritime boundary in the Beaufort Sea. A task force will be established this autumn to address the shared northern boundary and resolve the overlapping areas along the continental shelf.
The group aims to develop a final agreement regarding the border area, which extends north of Alaska, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, according to the U.S. State Department.
