Teenage Hacker Roots Installs DooM on John McAfee’s ‘Unhackable’ Wallet
A 15-year-old hacker named Saleem Rashid has successfully rooted the BitFi crypto wallet, showcasing his achievement by running the classic video game Doom on the device. However, he did not manage to extract any cryptocurrency from the wallet.
In a video shared on Twitter, Rashid, who identifies as a “bitcoin hardware wallet breaker,” demonstrated the BitFi’s touch screen while navigating a section of Doom, released by Id Software in 1993. During the video, the device is shown disassembled, lacking its back panel.
This accomplishment follows John McAfee’s claim that the BitFi wallet is the first “unhackable” cryptocurrency wallet available on the market. McAfee even offered a $100,000 bounty to anyone who could breach the device’s security. Subsequently, the company behind BitFi distanced itself from McAfee’s assertions.
