PITTSBURGH – U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are set to tour several battleground states following her highly anticipated debate with former Republican President Donald Trump on Tuesday, as announced by her campaign on Sunday.
With less than 60 days remaining until the presidential election on November 5, Vice President Harris will begin the tour in North Carolina on Thursday, followed by a visit to Pennsylvania on Friday. Meanwhile, Walz will head to Michigan and Wisconsin.
Polling averages indicate a close contest in key states that could swing either way, potentially deciding the outcome of the election. The battleground states include Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona.
A significant moment for both Harris and Trump will arrive during their televised debate, which marks the first since President Joe Biden exited the race and endorsed Harris as his successor on July 21.
Harris’ candidacy has revitalized Democratic supporters and donors, leading to a noticeable surge in opinion polls. Her campaign raised $361 million in August, providing her with a substantial financial advantage over Trump.
