US Senate Confirms Democrat Chang as Member of Energy Regulatory Commission, Reports Reuters
The U.S. Senate has confirmed Judy Chang, a Democrat, as a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). This marks the third and final confirmation of President Joe Biden’s nominees for the commission this week. The vote concluded with a tally of 63 in favor and 33 against.
Chang brings expertise in energy economics and policy to the role and has previously served as the undersecretary of energy and climate solutions in Massachusetts. Earlier in the week, the Senate also confirmed two other members for FERC: David Rosner, a Democrat, and Lindsay See, a Republican.
FERC, which can have up to five members, is responsible for overseeing the power grid, liquefied natural gas projects, and the interstate transportation of oil and natural gas.
