Dogecoin Cofounder Addresses Satoshi Bitcoin Speculations

In recent tweets, co-founder Billy Markus, known as "Shibetoshi Nakomoto," addressed speculation regarding his involvement with various cryptocurrencies. He stated that, other than Dogecoin and an earlier project called "Bells," he has not participated in the development of any other cryptocurrency since 2014 and has no plans to do so in the future. "Anything claiming I am affiliated is lying," Markus asserted, aiming to clarify any misconceptions about his role in other blockchain initiatives.

The conversation took a lighthearted turn when influencer Ian Miles Cheong jokingly claimed, "But you created Bitcoin." Markus humorously responded, "Yes, and I created the internet and oxygen," highlighting the absurdity of the claim.

This exchange comes amid ongoing theories linking various crypto figures to the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. Markus’s humorous yet definitive denial seeks to quell the speculation and clarify his position in the crypto community.

Dogecoin (DOGE) was launched in 2013 as a playful alternative to traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, which debuted in 2009. Satoshi Nakamoto vanished from the public eye in 2011, making it highly improbable that the Dogecoin founder was also Satoshi.

Satoshi Remains a Mystery

Despite ongoing investigations and attempts to uncover Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity, the Bitcoin creator remains anonymous, with no confirmed real-world identity. This has fueled continuous speculation about who Satoshi might actually be.

Some theories suggest that Satoshi could represent a group rather than a single individual, as the complexity of Bitcoin’s code would likely require the collaboration of multiple programmers. To this day, the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains an unsolved mystery.
