
Mexico Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; S&P/BMV IPC Up 0.75%
Mexican stocks experienced an uptick after the market closed on Thursday, driven by gains across various sectors.
By the end of trading in Mexico, the main index increased by 0.75%.
The standout performers of the session included Industrias Peñoles Sab De CV, which surged 4.23%, gaining 11.86 points to reach a closing price of 292.35. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. followed closely, rising by 4.18% or 4.52 points to finish at 112.68, while Grupo Televisa SAB Unit saw an increase of 3.44% or 0.31 points, closing at 9.33.
On the downside, GCC SAB de CV was the worst performer, dropping 3.39% or 5.37 points to close at 153.06. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte fell by 2.44% or 4.23 points, ending at 168.83, and Gentera SAB de CV decreased by 1.96% or 0.44 points to settle at 22.01.
Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those in decline on the Mexico Stock Exchange, with 158 stocks rising compared to 82 that fell, while 23 remained unchanged.
In commodities, Gold Futures for December delivery saw an increase of 0.39% or 10.40 points, reaching $2,695.10 per troy ounce. Conversely, Crude oil for November delivery dipped by 3.20% or 2.23 points, settling at $67.46 per barrel. In contrast, the December Brent oil contract saw a slight increase of 0.07% or 0.05 points, trading at $70.93 per barrel.
On the currency front, the USD/MXN pair rose by 0.20% to 19.65, while the EUR/MXN pair remained unchanged at 21.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.32%, bringing it to a level of 100.31.
