Two Palestinians Reportedly Killed by Israeli Forces in West Bank, According to Palestinian Authorities
Tulkarm Incident Overview
RAMALLAH – According to Palestinian health authorities, Israeli security forces have killed two individuals in the West Bank city of Tulkarm. This incident occurred shortly after the military concluded one of its largest operations in recent months in the same area.
Details regarding the deceased, a man and a woman, have not been provided, and the Israeli military did not offer any immediate response to the situation, which is part of a series of violent confrontations that have taken place in the region over the past weeks.
The armed factions of Fatah and Islamic Jihad released statements indicating that their fighters were engaged in clashes with Israeli forces during the incident.
Reports from the official Palestinian news agency stated that Israeli troops, along with military vehicles, had surrounded the government hospital in Tulkarm as the operation commenced.
Last week, Israeli forces wrapped up a nine-day operation characterized by intense fighting in both Tulkarm and Jenin, another critical city in northern West Bank. The military described the operation as a measure to counter Iranian-backed militant groups that were allegedly planning attacks on Israeli civilians.
The operation resulted in the deaths of approximately 40 Palestinians, including both armed combatants and innocent civilians, alongside one Israeli soldier. The conflict severely impacted infrastructure in both cities, causing damage to electricity and water services, destroying houses and buildings, and leaving roadways disrupted.
