KYIV (Reuters) – A drone attack launched by Russian forces on the southern town of Izmail resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 14 others, including three children, according to Odesa regional prosecutors on Friday.
The Odesa regional governor, Oleh Kiper, described the incident as a “large-scale terror attack” that occurred in the early hours of Friday. The strike caused several fires and inflicted damage on residential buildings, as reported via the Telegram messaging app.
In a separate incident, a missile attack on the central city of Dnipro also led to damage at an industrial facility and sparked a fire, as stated by Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Serhiy Lysak. He mentioned that other drone and shelling attacks in the region had damaged infrastructure, though no casualties from these attacks had been reported.
The Ukrainian air force announced that it managed to intercept 24 out of 32 drones during the overnight assault. One of the drones reportedly breached Romanian airspace.
