Three Killed, Five Injured in Russian Attacks on Eastern Ukrainian Town

Three women were killed and five others injured on Wednesday due to Russian attacks on the eastern Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, according to prosecutors.

Russian troops targeted a residential area in the town, situated about 14 kilometers (nine miles) from the active combat zone, resulting in the deaths of two elderly women, as reported by the Prosecutor’s General Office via Telegram.

Subsequently, Russian forces struck another residential section, likely using a self-propelled multiple rocket launcher, which claimed the life of a middle-aged woman and injured five additional civilians.

The Donetsk region is frequently subjected to Russian shelling and airstrikes, with parts of it currently under partial occupation by Russian forces.

While Moscow asserts that it does not aim at civilians or civilian infrastructure during its military operations in Ukraine, numerous casualties have occurred as a result of its assaults.
