Britain to Continue Pursuing Global Investment, Reports Reuters
LONDON (Reuters) – Britain remains committed to attracting global investment, as stated by a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May following a cabinet meeting focused on a new economic and industrial strategy.
The spokesman emphasized that “Britain is open for business,” reiterating the nation’s intent to seek investments from around the world while advocating for free trade.
Last week, May opted for additional time to evaluate a significant project to construct the UK’s first nuclear power plant in decades, a venture financed by French utility EDF and Chinese partner China General Nuclear. This decision has prompted concerns regarding a potential shift in the government’s approach to foreign investments, especially those originating from China.
