Bithumb Re-Opens Monero (XMR) and Monaco (MCO) Deposits and Withdrawals

Bithumb, the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange that experienced a hack in June, announced on Tuesday that it has resumed services for two cryptocurrencies: Monero (XMR) and Monaco (MCO). Deposits and withdrawals for these coins were activated at 06:00 UTC.

In a blog post, Bithumb explained, “As the market prices of the following two cryptocurrencies (Monaco, Monero) are stabilizing with price differences less than 10%, we will reopen deposit/withdrawal services for them on August 14, 2018, at 3:00 PM KST.”

The exchange has also updated the deposit addresses for both cryptocurrencies, meaning customers will need to use these new addresses for transactions.

Initially, Monero was included in the first group of coins that Bithumb aimed to reinstate services for at the beginning of the month, but price fluctuations for XMR led to a postponement in reopening deposits and withdrawals.

Bithumb saw a trading volume of nearly $242 million in the past day.
