Sam Bankman-Fried’s Appeal Against Bail Revocation ‘Meritless’, According to Prosecutors
The United States Attorney’s Office has reaffirmed its decision to deny bail for former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, citing concerns over potential witness tampering. Prosecutors asserted that no conditions could guarantee the safety of witnesses involved in the case. They responded to various claims made by Bankman-Fried in his appeal against the bail revocation, labeling those claims as “meritless.”
In their arguments, the prosecutors pointed out that Bankman-Fried had been found to have attempted or committed witness tampering on two occasions, violating court orders. Given his track record of evading pre-trial release conditions, prosecutors expressed skepticism regarding his willingness to comply with any future release conditions.
