Trump Discusses With Musk Providing Internet to Hurricane-Hit Areas, Reports Reuters

By Kanishka Singh

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated on Monday that he had a conversation with billionaire Elon Musk regarding the provision of Starlink internet access to regions impacted by Hurricane Helene, which has devastated the southeastern United States, resulting in over 100 fatalities across six states.

Trump made these comments during an event in Georgia. Musk has shown his support for the former U.S. president in the upcoming elections on November 5, where Trump will compete against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

"I just spoke to Elon," Trump mentioned. "We want to get Starlink hooked up because they have no communication whatsoever, and Elon will always come through."

Trump further indicated, "We are going to try and get the Starlink in there as soon as possible."

Starlink, a satellite broadband service provided by Musk’s SpaceX, operates nearly two-thirds of the world’s active satellites and is unique in offering high-bandwidth internet coverage around the globe.
