Africa’s Blockchain Journey Begins with Poverty Alleviation — Insights from SumoTrust CEO

Many individuals have advocated for the integration of blockchain technology into daily life in Nigeria and across Africa. However, according to GT Igwe Chrisent, CEO of SumoTrust, an online savings and investment platform, and Truzact, a crypto wallet, overcoming poverty is a prerequisite for the effective adoption of blockchain technology within society.

During the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SIBAN) Digital Assets Summit 2023, held in Abuja, Chrisent emphasized that addressing hunger and poverty is essential before achieving a higher level of integration of blockchain technology in Africa.
