An Overview of Crypto-Staking Networks By Cointelegraph
The conversation surrounding the most suitable consensus algorithm for blockchain has been a long time coming. While proof-of-work (PoW) continues to be favored by Bitcoin, there has been a notable increase in interest towards proof-of-stake (PoS) protocols, particularly with Ethereum’s upcoming transition to Ethereum 2.0.
The question of which is superior remains contentious. Ankit Bhatia, co-founder and CEO of Sapien, shared his insights, stating that “proof-of-stake is simply more scalable because it eliminates the race to solve math problems and the need for computation to grow the pot.” Bhatia highlights that PoS’s capability to utilize sharding gives it an edge over PoW.
This ongoing debate underscores the evolving landscape of blockchain technology and its varying approaches to consensus mechanisms.
