Colombia Stocks Decline at Trade Close; COLCAP Falls 0.81%

Colombia’s stock market faced a decline on Friday, driven by losses in various sectors. The overall market closed down by 0.81%.

Among the notable performers, Grupo Nutresa SA stood out, experiencing a rise of 4.63%, equivalent to 3,100 points, finishing at 70,000. Corporacion Financiera Colombiana also performed well, increasing by 4.60% or 520 points to close at 11,820. Additionally, Ecopetrol SA saw a gain of 3.26%, adding 60 points to reach 1,900.

On the downside, the worst-performing stocks included Etb, which dropped 6.25% or 5 points, settling at 75. Bolsa De Valores De Colombia decreased by 4.80% or 490 points to end at 9,710, while Banco De Bogota SA fell by 1.45%, losing 400 points and closing at 27,240.

Throughout the session, declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones. Grupo Nutresa SA reached an all-time high, while Etb hit an all-time low.

In commodities, US coffee for December delivery fell by 1.61%, trading at $269.48. Meanwhile, US cocoa for December delivery rose by 2.11%, reaching $8,293. Gold futures for December saw a slight decline, dropping 0.52% to $2,680.90 per troy ounce.

In currency markets, the USD/COP exchange rate increased by 0.08% to 4,174.53, and BRL/COP rose by 0.15% to 768.23. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 100.15.
