Appellate Judge Denies Sam Bankman-Fried’s Request for Immediate Release from Jail
Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, commonly referred to as SBF, has experienced an initial setback in his bid to be released on bail ahead of his upcoming criminal trial.
On September 6, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit informed that a circuit judge rejected a motion from Bankman-Fried’s legal representatives seeking his immediate release from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His attorneys argued that the existing conditions intended to facilitate his trial preparation were insufficient, primarily due to restricted internet access.
