Aptos Experience Brings Together Leading Visionaries and Builders in Seoul to Celebrate the Future of Web3 by Chainwire

The Aptos Foundation recently held The Aptos Experience, a multi-day event in Seoul, South Korea on September 5 and 6, 2024. This event aimed to celebrate the contributions of the Aptos blockchain ecosystem to the future of Web3.
With over 700 attendees, the event gathered representatives from leading Web2 companies, including Universal Pictures, Google Cloud, Visa, Franklin Templeton, and SK Telecom, alongside Web3-native projects such as Aave Labs and Ondo Finance. The event featured a unique "un-conference" format that included technical workshops led by Move developers, an engaging Web3 exhibition, and discussions focused on Web3’s future. Participants also enjoyed opportunities for networking and attended curated evening events.
More than 60 speakers participated, discussing topics such as the evolution of the creator economy, digital ownership, and the necessary steps to onboard a billion new users to Web3. Notable experts such as Arthur Hayes, Meltem Demirors, and Santiago R. Santos presented insights into the future of finance, gaming, art, culture, and technology.
The overarching message was that the on-chain future is promising, and the Aptos ecosystem is playing a pivotal role. Insights were shared by companies like NBC Universal regarding their Web3 journey, and discussions included the future of mobile transactions, wallet integration, and stablecoins by representatives from Visa, PayPal, and IDA. Additionally, leaders from SK Telecom and Lotte Group highlighted the advantages of enterprise adoption of Web3 in South Korea, while Deutsche Motors described how Web3 is enhancing security and transparency in the used car market.
Aptos Labs announced the upcoming enhanced Petra wallet, introducing features such as easy access to stablecoin lending pools for international users, peer-to-peer payment options, and tools for creating digital communities based on shared interests. Aptos Build was also launched, providing developers with integrated tools to create decentralized applications effortlessly. Furthermore, Arculus unveiled the Aptos Card, a secure hardware wallet designed to simplify global value transfers.
The event featured discussions on innovative proposals to advance finance and Web3 on Aptos, including a governance proposal related to Raptr, a cutting-edge BFT protocol. Plans for an improved Move programming language were also shared, enhancing control over code, storage, and vector management for developers.
