Argentine Central Bank to Introduce Digital Peso Bill ‘As Soon as Possible’

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has ramped up its efforts to develop legislation for a central bank digital currency (CBDC), following recent comments on its potential advantages for the national economy.

During a public discussion on October 18, Juan Agustín D’Attellis Noguera, a director at the central bank, disclosed that they are working on the legislative foundation for the digital peso project, which was proposed by the Minister of Economy and presidential candidate Sergio Massa.
