AT&T’s Attempt to Dismiss $1.8M Crypto Theft Lawsuit Fails

U.S. District Judge Consuelo Marshall has dismissed AT&T’s attempt to terminate a lawsuit claiming the company was negligent in its failure to protect investor Seth Shapiro from a $1.8 million cryptocurrency theft.

In her ruling, the judge permitted the continuation of Shapiro’s allegations, which include negligence, negligent supervision, violations under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and a petition for punitive damages.
