Boy stabs and wounds at least five schoolmates and a teacher in Portugal, reports Reuters
A 12-year-old boy was taken into custody after stabbing and injuring at least five fellow students and a teacher at a school in Portugal on Tuesday, according to police reports.
Fortunately, none of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, though one girl was reported to be in serious condition and was transported to a hospital. The incident occurred in the town of Azambuja, located roughly 50 kilometers northeast of Lisbon.
Details about the motives behind the attack have not been disclosed. The mayor of Azambuja, Silvino Lucio, stated that the boy entered the school after lunch and began attacking anyone he encountered.
