Brazil Stocks Close Lower; Bovespa Down 0.21%

Brazilian stocks closed lower on Friday, primarily driven by losses in key sectors. The Bovespa index dropped by 0.21% by the market’s close in Sao Paulo.

Among the session’s top performers were Azul SA Pref, which saw an increase of 6.06%, adding 0.34 points to finish at 5.95. Similarly, SLC Agricola SA gained 5.84%, rising 1.03 points to close at 18.66, and Atacadao SA rose by 5.45%, up 0.48 points to settle at 9.28.

Conversely, the worst performers included CSN Mineracao SA, which fell 4.03%, losing 0.29 points to close at 6.91. Embraer SA saw a decline of 3.71%, down 1.86 points to finish at 48.27, while Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA (USIMINAS Pref) dropped 2.19%, losing 0.14 points to end at 6.24.

On the B3 Stock Exchange, advancing stocks outnumbered those that declined by 528 to 399, with 62 stocks remaining unchanged. The implied volatility index for Bovespa options increased by 0.22%, reaching 27.47.

In the commodities market, gold futures for December delivery decreased by 0.76%, down 20.45 to $2,674.45 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery rose by 1.36%, climbing 0.92 to $68.59 a barrel. The December US coffee C contract fell by 1.61%, dropping 4.42 to trade at $269.48.

In currency trading, the USD/BRL remained relatively stable, showing a small change of 0.06% to 5.43, while the EUR/BRL fell by 0.28% to 6.07. The US Dollar Index futures were down by 0.13%, standing at 100.12.
