
Turkey’s Spy Chief Meets Hamas Political Bureau Members in Ankara, Reports TRT
Turkey’s intelligence chief recently met with a delegation from Hamas in Ankara to discuss ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, according to state media reports.
Ibrahim Kalin, who heads Turkey’s National Intelligence Agency, engaged with the Hamas political bureau leadership, although specific details regarding the members of the delegation were not disclosed.
Turkey has openly condemned Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
The ongoing conflict began on October 7 when Hamas launched an attack on Israel, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the abduction of around 250 hostages, as reported by Israeli officials. In response, Israel’s military actions in Gaza have claimed the lives of over 41,000 Palestinians, according to the local health ministry.
Turkey’s intelligence agency is maintaining communication with various parties, including Hamas, Israel, Qatar, and the United States, as part of its efforts to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza.
