Trump Expresses Deep Disturbance Over Violence in South Sudan and Congo

NEW YORK (Reuters) – On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed deep concern over the violence occurring in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, stating that the United States is closely monitoring the situation.

During a lunch meeting with African leaders held alongside the United Nations General Assembly, Trump announced plans to send U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley to Africa to engage in discussions about conflict prevention.
