China Voices Concerns Over US Chip and Connected Vehicle Policies, According to Reuters
BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s commerce minister expressed "serious concerns" during a recent conversation with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce regarding U.S. semiconductor policies affecting China and the restrictions on Chinese connected vehicles. He urged the U.S. to lift sanctions imposed on Chinese companies.
In his discussion with Gina Raimondo, Wang Wentao highlighted the importance of defining national security boundaries in trade to maintain global supply chain stability and promote cooperation in business between the two nations.
"China urges the U.S. to address the specific concerns of Chinese companies, lift sanctions as soon as possible, and enhance the business environment for Chinese firms operating in the U.S.," Wang stated, as quoted by the ministry.
Wang expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with the U.S. to restore bilateral economic relations to a positive trajectory. The ministry emphasized that both parties engaged in open, in-depth discussions on mutual economic and trade issues.
