Coinbase Layer-2 Network Base Experiences First Major Outage Since Launch

Coinbase’s layer-2 network, Base, experienced its first significant outage since its public debut on August 9.

On September 5, for about 45 minutes, the Base chain saw no new blocks being produced. The developers detected the “stalled” block production at 9:36 PM UTC. Thankfully, block production has since resumed.

The development team has indicated that they have identified and resolved the issue causing the outage.
