Colombia Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; COLCAP Increases by 0.02%

Colombia’s stock market saw an uptick on Friday, buoyed by gains across various sectors. The primary index finished the day with a slight increase of 0.02%.

Leading the session’s gains was Canacol Energy Ltd, which saw its shares rise by 4.08%, closing at 10,720.00. Grupo Argos SA also had a strong performance, climbing 3.16% to end the day at 18,260.00. Meanwhile, Interconnection Electric SA ESP increased by 3.10%, finishing at 17,300.00.

On the downside, Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA experienced the most significant decline, dropping 5.19% to close at 25,600.00. Its preferred shares fell 1.78% to 19,840.00, and Grupo Bolivar SA decreased by 1.51%, closing at 65,160.00.

Overall, declining stocks outnumbered those that advanced. Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA hit a 52-week low with its 5.19% drop, while Grupo Argos SA achieved a three-year high with its 3.16% gain.

In commodities, US coffee for December delivery fell by 3.56% to $252.33. US cocoa for December decreased by 0.72%, settling at $7,694.00, while December gold futures rose by 1.25%, trading at $2,647.20 per troy ounce.

In currency exchange, the USD/COP rate fell by 0.23% to 4,155.00, and BRL/COP dropped 1.81% to 754.02. The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a slight increase of 0.13%, reaching 100.45.
