
Colombia Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; COLCAP Up 0.79%
Colombia’s stock market experienced an uptick following Thursday’s close, with increases across several sectors driving shares higher.
At the end of trading in Colombia, the index rose by 0.79%.
The standout performers of the session included Corporacion Financiera Colombiana, which saw an increase of 4.60%, or 520.00 points, reaching a closing price of 11,820.00. Cementos Argos SA followed with a gain of 1.37%, or 100.00 points, finishing at 7,400.00. Promigas also performed well, rising 1.30%, or 100.00 points, to close at 7,800.00.
Conversely, the biggest losers included Etb, which dropped by 6.25%, or 5.00 points, ending at 75.00. Ecopetrol SA saw a decline of 5.15%, or 100.00 points, closing at 1,840.00, while Bolsa De Valores De Colombia fell by 4.80%, or 490.00 points, to settle at 9,710.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones in the Colombian stock market. Notably, Etb’s shares fell to an all-time low, while Ecopetrol’s shares hit a three-year low. In contrast, Promigas reached a three-year high.
In commodities, US coffee for December delivery rose by 1.68%, or 4.53, to $273.63. Cocoa for December delivery also climbed, increasing by 1.67%, or 132.50, to $8,087.50, while gold futures for December saw a rise of 0.39%, or 10.40, trading at $2,695.10 per troy ounce.
On the currency front, the USD/COP exchange rate decreased by 0.11% to 4,166.50, and the BRL/COP rate fell by 0.13% to 766.06. Furthermore, the US Dollar Index Futures showed a decline of 0.32%, settling at 100.31.
