Japan’s Factory Output Declines 3.3% Month-on-Month in August, Reports Reuters
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s factory production decreased by 3.3% in August compared to the previous month, significantly more than the median forecast of a 0.9% decline, according to government data released on Monday.
Manufacturers consulted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry anticipate a 2.0% increase in seasonally adjusted output for September and a further expansion of 6.1% for October.
Additionally, separate data revealed that Japanese retail sales grew by 2.8% in August year-on-year, surpassing the median market expectation of a 2.3% increase.
