Colombia Lifts Ban on U.S. Beef from States Affected by Bird Flu in Dairy Cows, Reports Reuters
Colombia has lifted its restrictions on imports of U.S. beef from states where dairy cattle tested positive for bird flu, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
In April, Colombia became the first country to officially impose limits on U.S. beef imports due to bird flu affecting cattle, highlighting the broader economic repercussions of the virus that has already impacted global poultry trade.
The U.S. Meat Export Federation, a trade organization, confirmed the removal of these restrictions by Colombia. Since March, over 230 dairy herds across 14 U.S. states have reported cases of bird flu, according to USDA data.
