Iran Will Respond to Israel’s ‘Criminal Acts,’ Says Foreign Ministry, According to Reuters

Iran Responds Strongly to Israeli Actions in Lebanon

DUBAI – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani declared on Monday that Iran will not ignore "the criminal acts" of Israel, in light of recent incidents involving the killing of Hezbollah’s leader and a deputy commander of the Iranian Guard in Lebanon.

Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan was reportedly killed during Israeli strikes on Beirut on Friday, an operation that also resulted in the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The recent escalation of Israeli military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi militia in Yemen has raised concerns about the potential for widespread conflict in the Middle East, which could implicate both Iran and the United States, a key ally of Israel.

Kanaani stated that Iran is monitoring the situation closely in coordination with Lebanese authorities regarding the strikes that resulted in the deaths of Nasrallah and Nilforoushan. He emphasized that while Iran does not seek war, it is unafraid to confront aggression, promising that they would respond in a manner that would bring regret to their adversaries.
