Crypto Exchange Kraken Plans Expansion into US Stock Trading: Report

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is reportedly preparing to offer trading services for U.S. listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

As per a Bloomberg report from September 27, the company intends to launch these trading services in both the U.S. and the United Kingdom in 2024 under a new division called Kraken Securities. This expansion into investment vehicles beyond cryptocurrencies will necessitate licensing from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and compliance with financial regulations in the U.K., which Kraken is said to already possess.
