Crypto Whale Loses $24M in Staked Ethereum to Phishing Attack

A cryptocurrency whale has become a victim of a significant phishing attack, resulting in the loss of millions of dollars in staked Ether (ETH) through the liquid staking provider Rocket Pool.

On September 6, the investor lost their entire balance, which included Lido Staked ETH (stETH) and Rocket Pool ETH (rETH), as reported by the cryptocurrency security firm PeckShield.

The phishing incident involved transactions amounting to $24 million, revealing the method used by the attacker to exploit the victim’s holdings.
