World Seeks Ceasefire Along Israel-Lebanon Border, Says US’s Blinken – Reuters
Ceasefire Call amid Israel-Hezbollah Tensions
Countries worldwide, including major Arab nations, G7 members, and those from the European Union, are advocating for an end to hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon. This statement was made by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday.
During an interview with MSNBC, Blinken addressed Israel’s refusal to accept a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal for Lebanon. He emphasized that there is a strong international consensus among key European and regional countries regarding the necessity of a ceasefire.
Blinken also mentioned that he is scheduled to meet with Israeli officials later on Thursday in New York to discuss the situation further.
